About

This blog site is a teaching ministry of the Disciples Global Network. The focus is on the Gift of the Spirit, the "Promise of the Father," and its ministries and activities in the Assembly of Jesus Christ. The outpouring of the Spirit on the Day of Pentecost marked the commencement of the "last days" according to Peter in his sermon in Jerusalem.

The interpretive approach employed here is twofold. First, a focus on the original literary and historical contexts of each passage. To whom did the author write and why? What were the historical circumstances that prompted him to write, and who were his original recipients?

Second, to give full consideration to all citations and verbal allusions from the Hebrew Bible or the Greek Septuagint version of the Old Testament applied to the Spirit by the New Testament authors.
